For over three decades Porter Bennett has pioneered innovative analytical approaches to understanding the natural gas, crude oil and water markets. As Co-Founder of B3 Insight, a subsidiary of Ponderosa Advisors, LLC, he leads all strategic company initiatives, delivering data-driven water analytics to the energy and environment sectors. Prior to B3, Porter founded BENTEK Energy in 1985, served as CEO, and led the company’s development until 2011 when it was acquired by Platts, a division of McGraw Hill Financial.
Porter holds an M.S. degree in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines, an M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University, and a B.A. in History from Lewis & Clark College.
Kelly Bennett has spent his career making obscure natural resource and commodity data usable for high-value decision making. Prior to B3 Insight, he built the global energy desk at BENTEK Energy (Platts) and co-founded Ponderosa Energy, an oil and gas market analytics company acquired by Enverus in 2016. Kelly is a board member of the Western Landowners Alliance, a nonprofit that advances policies and practices that sustain working lands, connected landscapes, and native species and is an active volunteer with Colorado Uplift, one of Denver’s largest and oldest nonprofit programs to engage in long-term, life-changing relationships with urban youth. Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Board for the Internet of Water at Duke University's Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and a key contributor to the Aspen Institute Dialogue Series on Water Data.
Kelly holds a B.S. in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College.

An experienced entrepreneur and executive with an impressive history of leading ambitious initiatives in technology-based companies, Richard focuses on executing the company’s vision and roadmap, in addition to overseeing financial operations and organizational development. Prior to B3, Richard was the Co-Founder, CEO and President of CO2Nexus, Inc (dba TERSUS Solutions), a start-up focused on replacing water across the global $800B+ textile processing industry with a novel liquefied gas solution. Over eight years he grew the team 4x and managed the growth of the company from pre-seed through commercial deployment across key target market segments with major corporations in the U.S., EU, and Asia. Richard serves as an advisor to start-ups and venture firms in the dynamic Colorado economy, both directly and through the Rockies Venture Club.
Richard holds an M.A. in Public Policy and a B.A. in Economics from the College of William & Mary.

Lynelle has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, as both a sales executive and petroleum engineer, beginning as a production engineer with Chevron in California. She has been a key contributor to several successful oil and gas technology companies, including Decisioneering (now Oracle), Merak Projects (acquired by Schlumberger), Schlumberger Information Solutions, and Cartasite (acquired by Geoforce), helping clients transform their business processes through innovative technology.
Lynelle holds a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University.

Based in Houston, TX, Rob Chrisman built an impressive career and broad knowledge base in the oil and gas industry, in both the E&P and service sectors, developing deep technical skills and broad practical field experience. His experience includes engineering for Halliburton, Fidelity Exploration, Whiting Petroleum, and engineering and business development focused on produced water gathering projects for Gravity Oilfield Services.
Rob holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University.
Based in Midland, TX, JD has built a remarkable career and deep understanding of the domestic and international oil and gas industry. With extensive experience in midstream and upstream operations including completions, water treatment, and SWD and Frac operations, Leach’s technical and practical field management skills are an integral part of his success. Before joining B3, Leach’s experience includes business development, operations, and consultancy at Blackbuck Resources, Devon Energy, and Halliburton, among others.
Rob Bruant has a rich career in a variety of roles for BP and Pioneer Natural Resources including Strategy Manager, Subsurface Manager, Reservoir Engineer, and Petroleum Systems Analyst. Prior to B3 Insight, he also held positions of Instructor and Research Associate at Princeton University. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Produced Water Society, the Dallas Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and contributes as the Membership Chairperson for SPE’s Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration Technical Section. Rob is a licensed Professional Geoscientist, Professional Hydrologist, and Certified Petroleum Engineer.
Rob holds a Ph.D. in Hydrology from the University of Arizona, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, and a B.A. in Geosciences from Franklin and Marshall College.

As a Product Manager, Mark plays an integral role in managing and executing B3’s product roadmap. He is responsible for synthesizing external research and leveraging internal analytics to develop the product and execution of B3’s data roadmap while having extensive knowledge of the underlying data. Prior to B3, Mark was a Research Analyst at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions.
Mark holds an M.S. in Environmental Management from Duke University and B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California Santa Barbara. He also holds certifications in Geographic Information Systems and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

With over 15 years of experience building databases in the energy sector, Samantha combines primary analysis of water-related data with research into their legal and regulatory administration. Prior to B3 Insight, Samantha was a natural gas and power analyst at BENTEK Energy where she played an integral role in developing a multidimensional data and analysis solution for various energy sectors including commodities prices, international gas markets, and steel.
Samantha holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the Colorado School of Mines.

As a Product Analyst, Abigail plays an integral role in driving the business forward through the utilization of measurement tools, data integrity, market intelligence, and analysis of critical product initiatives. Prior to B3 Insight, Abigail was a geophysicist at the U.S. Geological Survey Landslide Hazard Team and worked on scientific apparatus design, fabrication, and modification as well as data collection, preparation, and analysis.
Abigail holds a P.M. in Petroleum Reservoir Systems and a B.S. in Geophysical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

With over 20 years of experience in water rights, Nancy focuses on land and water research and analysis for issues important to B3 Insight users. Previously, she worked in legal and consulting firms specializing in land and water matters and rights. She is a member of the Women's Leadership Network, an organization focused on investing, inspiring, and supporting lifelong learning sector’s current and future women leaders, advancing their effectiveness and status.
Nancy holds a B.S. in Paralegal Studies and has been a NALA Certified Paralegal since 1995.

With two decades of software development and data analysis experience, Mike leads the continued development of B3 Insight’s innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment. He is responsible for the architecture and operations of the company’s IT systems, in addition to a wide variety of strategic technology issues. Previously, Mike was the Lead Software Developer at BENTEK Energy where he led the development of BUD, the company’s multidimensional analytics system as well as being the lead developer of the company’s oil and gas reporting products suite.
Mike holds a B.S. in Computer Science from University of California Santa Barbara.
Parker is a full stack developer with emphasis in data engineering and ETL. He has experience in several technologies and development styles alongside over a decade of managerial experience and project management. Prior to B3 Insight, Parker was a Software Engineer at Adeptive Software.
Parker holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Regis University.

Logan is responsible for maintaining the company's automated collection system and data warehouse, troubleshooting system issues, and maintaining the data processes behind B3 Insight's UIC Permit Application Monitor Report. Logan has a high degree of technical knowledge and passion to work collaboratively to deliver innovative solutions for our customers. Prior to B3 Insight, Logan was a Software Developer Intern at Maxar Technologies (formerly DigitalGlobe) focusing on automating imagery validation software.
Logan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Colorado State University with a concentration in Human-Centered Computing.

Lori is the Lead Data Specialist focused on analyzing, editing and producing clean data. She has extensive experience in Social and Human Services including time with Colorado's Jefferson County Human Services as a Program Specialist and Case Manager working with families and children.
Lori holds a B.S. in Applied Science and Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health and Counseling from Metropolitan State University. She is also certified in Computer Information Systems.

As a Senior Software Engineer, Jamie is responsible for full stack software web development. He built B3 Insight’s collection system from the ground up and led the company’s efforts in maintaining the automated collection system and data warehouse. Jamie is continually venturing into uncharted territory with innovative solutions for our customers. Prior to B3, Jamie was a Software Data Engineer at BENTEK Energy and S&P Global.
Jamie holds an A.A.S. in Software Development from Lake Area Technical Institute.

Ross plays an integral role in driving the product suite and advances the development of our products for the oilfield water industry, specifically focusing on subsurface characterization and reservoir/hydrologic modeling services. He is also responsible for collecting and analyzing data and performing data quality audits that validate and maintain B3’s data integrity. Prior to B3, Ross was an Water Engineer Intern with the City of Denver Public Works and HDR, and a geologist with GEI Consultants.
Ross holds an M.S. in Hydrologic Science and Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a B.A. in Geology from Colgate University.

Lindsey manages the company’s office operations and procedures, including accounting and human resources support. She keeps the office running smoothly and supports the team on a variety of projects. Before joining B3 Insight, Lindsey worked in early childhood education.

Sarah’s history includes founding an award-winning events management company acquired in 2018, Vice President of the Nashville Junior Chamber, and product launch marketing at Schneider Electric.
Sarah holds a MicroMasters in Marketing Analytics from the University of California Berkeley and a B.S. in International Organization Leadership from Middle TN State University. She is pursuing a M.S. in Political Science from George Washington University.
