New B3 Insight MCP Server connects water and subsurface intelligence to enterprise AI tools, enabling customers to combine B3 data with proprietary information for operational and commercial decisions

DENVER, CO — November 4, 2026 — B3 Insight, a water data & analytics company specializing in produced water, disposal and subsurface intelligence, today announced the launch of its B3 Insight MCP Server, enabling oil and gas operators, water midstream companies, and financial institutions access to B3’s comprehensive industry data through compatible enterprise AI tools.

Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the service connects customers’ AI applications to licensed B3 datasets, enabling clients to ask natural language questions and integrate B3 information with their proprietary data and workflows.

A key differentiator is B3’s integrated knowledge base, which draws on decades of industry research and technical expertise to guide AI applications towards relevant data and explain how it should be interpreted. By providing context on dataset definitions, relationships and appropriate use, the knowledge base helps customers retrieve information more accurately and efficiently.

B3 Insight provides comprehensive water and subsurface intelligence across major unconventional plays in the United States. B3 integrates data on produced water, injection and disposal operations, formation pressure, seismicity, infrastructure, surface and ground water, and regulatory activity to support operational, commercial and investment decisions.

All oil and gas supermajors operating in the Permian Basin use B3 data to inform their decisions. B3’s extensive database covers more than 170,000 injection wells, with over 29 million monthly records of injection volumes and pressures and 3.7 million daily records across six states. Historical records extend more than 40 years in most states.

Developed through years of collecting, researching, validating, and integrating regulatory and industry information, B3’s data reflects the expertise of a multidisciplinary team spanning hydrogeology, petroleum and reservoir engineering, geophysics, data science and software development. This combination of technical expertise and data management provides a trusted foundation for understanding water production, disposal activity, subsurface conditions and infrastructure.

“Energy companies are investing in AI to improve efficiencies and drive innovation. The quality of the data they access is critical to realizing that potential,” said Kelly Bennett, CEO of B3 Insight. “We’ve spent years building the data and industry expertise needed to understand the many facets of water management. Our MCP Server makes that foundation available within customers’ AI environments, helping them develop workflows that reflect their own operations and business priorities.”
