Expanding the View: New Data and Insights Now Live in OilfieldH2O

October 2025

B3 Insight has released a new wave of data enhancements to the OilfieldH2O platform—delivering expanded coverage, deeper subsurface visibility, and smarter operational context for Texas users. These updates help operators, midstream companies, and regulators manage water and pressure more effectively in an increasingly complex regulatory and geotechnical environment.

Texas Well & Production Dataset

Now available statewide, this dataset brings well-level production information to OilfieldH2O. This dataset integrates well location and history, wellbore construction  productivity tests, and calculated production ratios with links to documents where available. Users can access insight into water cuts and construction data critical to permitting new saltwater disposal capacity in Texas.

Why it matters:

Updated permitting guidelines require increased well-level information and data to support injection permit applications. This dataset supports this requirement, linking well locations, construction, completion details, and calculated water-to-oil and water-to-gas ratios to

Texas production wells. By tracking how water ratios change over time, users can anticipate rising water cuts, understand evolving infrastructure needs, and ensure disposal and recycling capacity align with future production. The result is faster, better-supported permits and more efficient, data-driven operations.

New Subsurface Pressure Test (SPT) Data Now Available

The new Texas Subsurface Pressure Test (SPT) dataset—now available as part of B3’s Pressure Data—extends the depth and precision of the B3 Pressure Database

B3 has transformed decades of unstructured injection well regulatory filings into a standardized, searchable intelligence layer within OilfieldH2O. The addition of SPT data greatly enhances our Pressure database by integrating thousands of digitized Step-Rate Tests (SRTs), Bottomhole Pressure (BHP) measurements, operator-reported data, and B3’s proprietary Shut-In Fall-Off (SIFO) analysis. Each record is standardized, validated, and integrated with B3’s modeled historic pressure dataset to enable users to analyze measured and modeled conditions in injection intervals with exceptional spatial and temporal accuracy.

B3’s new, proprietary Shut-In Fall-Off analysis models how pressure declines during non-injection periods, estimating a formation’s natural equilibrium pressure—a key indicator of reservoir health and available capacity.

Drilling Permits Dataset Enhancement

Tracking drilling permits provides an early signal of where activity—and future water demand—is heading. These insights support better forecasting for infrastructure, sourcing, and regulatory planning.

Formerly known as TX Injection Well Permits, this expanded dataset now includes all injection and production drilling permits issued by the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC).

Compare new drilling permits with nearby production and injection to optimize development plans and avoid costly bottlenecks. As regulatory and technical challenges grow—tighter injection limits, broader Areas of Review (AORs), and closer scrutiny of formation pressure and seismicity—clarity matters more than ever. OilfieldH2O brings well & production, injection, pressure, and permitting data together in one platform, giving operators a single, trusted source to manage risk, strengthen compliance, and make confident, data-driven decisions.
