SatSense InSAR data in B3 Insight’s OilfieldH2O platform will support the RRC’s Underground Injection Control program across the Permian Basin
Denver, CO and Leeds, UK – September 1, 2026 – B3 Insight and SatSense today announced a partnership to provide the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) with satellite InSAR ground-motion intelligence for the Permian Basin, integrated with robust subsurface injection data delivered through B3 Insight’s OilfieldH2O platform. The agreement gives the state’s oil and gas regulator basin-wide visibility of surface movement in support of its Underground Injection Control (UIC) program.
The integration makes basin-wide, high-resolution ground-motion measurements, updated as each new satellite acquisition is processed, accessible alongside OilfieldH2O’s water injection, pressure, infrastructure and regulatory datasets. Rather than reconciling separate sources after the fact, operators and regulators can see directly how surface deformation corresponds to injection activity and geologic conditions.

The intent is to provide the RRC access to additional data to support permitting, monitoring and long-term planning, supporting the Commission’s mission of stewardship of Texas’ natural resources and the environment alongside the continued safe development of the basin. Expanding the data and analytics leveraged by all industry stakeholders is essential to support efforts to develop data-informed risk profiles for the Permian Basin.
